GRAND OPENING

Tahini’s

New Mediterranean quick-service restaurant marks its arrival with a ribbon cutting for dignitaries and a public grand opening weekend

BELLEVILLE, July 6, 2026 — The Belleville Chamber of Commerce brought out the scissors for a ribbon cutting on Friday, to celebrate the grand opening of Tahini’s Belleville, owned by Ahmad Anas, located at 287 North Front Street, right in front of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. Local dignitaries attended the event, including City of Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis and Councillors Thompson, Seu, and Enright-Miller; as well as representatives from the offices of MP Malette and MPP Allsopp.

Tahini’s Belleville is a quick-service restaurant specializing in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. The following day, Tahini’s offered free original chicken shawarma to the first 100 guests, plus 50% off all wraps and bowls all day long, and Belleville showed up in a big way! A lineup stretched across the parking lot before the restaurant opened its doors at noon on Saturday, July 4.

“Saturday’s Grand Opening was a great success,” said Ahmad Anas. “We were very happy with the community’s response, and it was encouraging to see so many people come in, try our food, and support the new location.” Tahini’s Belleville has already been building a loyal following since its soft opening in March.

Tahini’s Belleville is owned by Ahmad Anas, whose family opened their first Tahini’s location in Scarborough before bringing the concept to Belleville. Anas has since made Belleville his home, which reflects his commitment to managing the location with hands-on care and a genuine connection to the local community.

The vision was clear: to offer Belleville something fresh, bold, and customizable. The menu features freshly prepared shawarma, bowls, wraps, and other Middle Eastern-inspired items made with quality ingredients and served fast. Customers can personalize their orders with a range of toppings and sauces, and if the repeat traffic since March is any indication, they are coming back to do exactly that.

“What makes Tahini’s different is the combination of fresh ingredients, modern presentation, fast service, and flavourful Middle Eastern-inspired food,” said Anas. “Seeing customers return and recommend us to others has been very encouraging.”

Belleville was a deliberate choice. The owners cited the city’s growth, welcoming local customer base, and the strong visibility and access offered by the North Front Street location. It draws residents, workers, students, and visitors alike.

“We are grateful for the warm welcome Belleville has given us,” said Anas, “and look forward to becoming a regular part of the community.”
