June 22, 2026— The Belleville Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate the grand opening of Bayview Mall Medical Clinic, managed by Verismo Health Inc. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on June 22, 2026, at 9 a.m. at Unit 66, Bayview Mall, Belleville. The ribbon cutting marks a significant step forward in addressing the region’s pressing need for primary care access, bringing physician services and pharmacy under one roof in one of Belleville’s most accessible locations.
The BCC was joined by local dignitaries, including from the City of Belleville and the BCC Board, to honour the grand opening of the medical clinic, with a new family physician practicing: Dr. Dr. Eghosa Desmond Irogue (MBBS PGCME MRCGP LMCC CCFP).
The clinic is the second Belleville location for Verismo Health, which has been working in close partnership with Geen Medical Clinic on an active patient attachment initiative. Through that collaboration, Verismo has successfully rostered 1,700 previously unattached patients, with several hundred more in the pipeline as physician capacity continues to grow. That work has been guided by a deliberate philosophy: attaching patients at a sustainable pace, matching individuals to the right model of care, and keeping continuity and equity of access at the centre of every decision.
The Bayview Mall location was chosen intentionally. Situated inside a high-traffic retail anchor, the clinic offers a low-barrier, familiar, and transit-accessible entry point to healthcare, further solidifying Verismo’s broader commitment to meeting patients where they are.
Dr. Eghosa Desmond’s first day at the medical clinic was on June 22, following the ribbon cutting, and already the day was fully booked with appointments.
Pharmacist Ishan Patel leads the pharmacy, which is open seven days a week. He is a graduate of Loyalist College and returned to Belleville after a stint in Hamilton, drawn back by the region’s affordability and community ties. The pharmacy offers flu and COVID vaccinations and can be reached at 613-779-8800.
The clinic’s physician, Dr. Eghosa Desmond Irogue (MBBS PGCME MRCGP LMCC CCFP), brings a wealth of international experience to Belleville. A family medicine physician who trained at Igbinedion University in Nigeria, Dr. Irogue has practiced across West Africa, the Middle East, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Prior to his Canadian practice, he served as a Medical Teaching Fellow at St. George’s University in Grenada, contributing to the training of physicians now serving communities across North America and the UK. He joins the clinic after the previous physician, Dr. Allen Jeffery, retired in December. Though Dr. Eghosa Desmond Iroque admits they are still getting settled into the community after relocating to Belleville, a fully booked first day suggests Belleville has already embraced him warmly.
