Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025— Downtown Belleville is proud to celebrate the Grand Opening of Dawgers Freeze Dried Candy at 375 Front St.

Mayor Neil Ellis and Councillor Garnet Thompson, Trisha Pretty on behalf of MPP Tyler Allsopp,  Kevin Clarke on behalf of MP Chris Malette, Jill Raycroft from the Belleville Chamber of Commerce, Victoria Watts from the city’s Economic Development, and Matthieu Leonard, Chair of the DBIA Board, were present at the ribbon-cutting.

Dawgers Freeze Dried Candy was founded when its owner, Benjamin McFaul, noticed inefficiencies in how other freeze-dried candy businesses operated.

Determined to do better, he created a model that is more efficient, more cost-effective, and built to deliver a superior product.

The result is a store filled with bold, flavour-intensified freeze-dried candies that offer a brand-new way to enjoy familiar favourites.

“We take a candy that once would stick in your teeth and now it is airy, crunchy, light, and enhances the flavour of the candy,” McFaul said.

With bestselling items like sour Skittles, Airheads, caramel M&M’s, and Nerds Gummy Clusters, customers can’t help but come back for more.

Beyond sweet treats, Dawgers also supports local creativity by offering space for vendors who sell their 3D-printed goods out of the shop.

What truly sets Dawgers apart is its mission-driven heart: a portion of every purchase is donated to the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward.

“Dawgers exists to help dogs find their forever homes,” McFaul said.

“Every bag of candy gets us one step closer.”

McFaul chose Downtown Belleville as their storefront location due to the district’s affordable rent, walkable layout, and strong community atmosphere.
